Tierpark Cottbus 25th March:

100. Bobcat (Lynx rufus)
101. Indian crested porcupine (Hystrix indica)

You already have Canis lupus on your list if I'm not mistaken.

I might as well join in on this challenge. Starting off (if I miss any and remember, I'll add onto the list):

Potter Park (3/20/22)
1. Amur/Siberian tiger (Panthera tigris altaica)
2. Snow leopard (Panthera uncia)
3. African lion (Panthera leo)
4. Pallas cat (Otocolobus manul)
5. Grey wolf (Canis lupus)
6. Red kangaroo (Osphranter rufus)
7. Western grey kangaroo (Macropus fuliginosus)
8. Seba's short-tailed bat (Carollia perspicillata)
9. African crested porcupine (Hystrix cristata)
10. Giant anteater (Myrmecophaga tridactyla)
11. Eurasian eagle owl (Bubo bubo)

Let me know if I made any mistakes, I will omit them as needed.

P.S. not sure if anyone has mentioned it yet, but can I nominate snakes and amphibians as other potential groups? Lots of species are nocturnal, just thought I'd put it out there.

Only owls native to the continent you saw them on are countable, so eagle-owl is not admissible from a North American zoo.

There are a lot more nocturnal animals than we included in this challenge, but unfortunately we cannot add everything. I considered amphibians but that seems like a lot to add onto everything else.

You've listed potoroo twice, otherwise all good! But please in the future make sure you include scientific names in your entries.

~Thylo

94. Iberian wolf (Canis lupus signatus)

I realized I made a mistake with your listing. You reported Dingo as C. lupus dingo and therefore I noted you for already seeing Grey Wolf, however we are going with the taxonomy of Dingo being distinct here. Therefore, your Dingo and Iberian Wolf entries are separate and you can reinstate this inclusion.

As a general reminder to everyone, still only one subspecies per species is countable for this challenge.

Visit to Birdworld gets me a small handful of additions in the bird department - disappointing as ZTL listed Ural owls, eagle owls and great greys at the zoo but none of those were signed, plus a tawny owl already seen at London. I do have three additions nevertheless:

16. European long-eared owl, Asio otus
17. Snowy owl, Bubo scandiacus
18. Barn owl, Tyto alba

Still quite a paltry list but one which will increase when I visit Pafos in around two weeks' time.

Visit to Pafos Zoo on Thursday, with another one coming on Monday I reckon (missed a few small cats and geckos):

19. Crested porcupine, Hystrix cristata
20. Egyptian fruit bat, Rousettus aegyptiacus
21. Eurasian lynx, Lynx lynx
22. Striped hyena, Hyaena hyaena
23. Great grey owl, Strix nebulosa
24. Tokay gecko, Gekko gecko

Much fewer than I expected, with the skunk, coati, raccoon and several owl species gone...
Hopefully will get a couple more on Monday or whenever.
