12. Dingo- Canis familiaris dingo- Prospect Park Zoo

Another day, another two zoos, and challenges completed remains 5/29. We will see if any challenges are completed tomorrow, I think there's a fair chance at least one will be.
Perhaps unsurprisingly to those familiar with these zoos, the smallest of the five zoos I've visited over the past three days has given me the most lifers out of them. Unfortunately, one thing this historic small zoo did not give me is any challenge completions.

Central Park Zoo:
Penguimonium (7/unlimited):
4. King Penguin- Aptenodytes patagonicus
5. Gentoo Penguin- Pygoscelis papua
6. Macaroni Penguin- Eudyptes chrysolophus
7. Chinstrap Penguin- Pygoscelis antarcticus

18. Pond Slider (2/2)- Central Park Zoo

Hot Blooded for Cold Blood (18/24 plus chelonians):
27. Roti Island Snake-necked Turtle- Chelodina mccordi

Unbearable Challenge (4/8):
4. Grizzly Bear- Ursus arctos horribilis

Challenges completed remains 5/29. Over the next three days, I have three more zoos planned to visit, and I'd be very surprised if this number stays 5/29 for much longer.

A very small update from a very small facility:

Living Coast Discovery Center (Chula Vista, CA) -- 03 May 2023:

I’m Hot Blooded (For Cold Blood) (24/24): COMPLETE
  1. Turtles/Tortoises (82/∞):
    1. Sonoran desert tortoise (Gopherus morafkai)
TOTAL:
Completed: 23/29
In-Progress: 3/3
Firstly, going back through all of my updates from the beginning of the thread, I did find two errors on my part. The first being that my New-World Quail species (northern bobwhite (Colinus virginianus) from the Fort Worth Zoo) did not get copied over from my tracking document to my update document, so it was missing from the thread. The second being that I counted the African spurred tortoise twice for the Turtles & Tortoises challenge. This ended up not being an issue because I forgot to update numbers between updates, so the number remained the same with its removal. I have since removed it from the second listing.

With that out of the way, here's to a new update and another challenge finished!

Los Angeles Zoo (Los Angeles, CA) -- 24 May 2023:

How Many Toes Am I Holding Up? (9/9): COMPLETE
  1. Tapirs (3/3):

See, Don’t Touch (21/∞):

  2. Yellow-footed rock wallaby (Petrogale xanthopus)

TOTAL:
Completed: 24/29
In-Progress: 2/2

My initial plans for a very zoo-heavy international travel year have changed, so I'm not entirely sure how much further I'm going to progress from this point tbh. I don't have many other zoo trips planned for this year but I'm sure I'll hack away at a few more categories.

Believe it or not, but since this last post, I've only had three zoo visits! The first of those was a revisit to the Bronx (I believe also on the same day as @Neil chace as it happens). The other two of those were today, to the Smithsonian's National Zoo and to Baltimore's National Aquarium.
