Just for the record after a visit to Chester today,my current total for the official challenge is 5,after having seen Lion,Tiger,Jaguar,Serval and Cheetah.

I should get more on this challenge on the previous Bear challenge. I will be visiting Edinburgh, Yorkshire WP, Chester, South Lakes as well as Blackpool. I know this won't count but I was also looking into a trip to the Cat's Survival Trust.
Well I've already done better than last year (1) having clocked up 3 at YWP today

Thanks to Shorts for coming up with another interesting challenge!
I'm a "cat fan" so am looking forward to this one, but it's slightly different than last year's challenge insomuch as cats aren't always the easiest thing to see, regardless of whether you visit a collection regularly. It'll therefore reward patience and determination! Clouded leopard at Edinburgh anyone?!
The challenge took us to lots of interesting places last year - not just the zoos we visited - so here's hoping for more of the same.

But how many cats are we likely to see with all those gorillas to visit!
Do what I did, look at one and say 'yep, seen a gorilla' now onto another species

You must do that to more or less any animal the speed you get round several zoos a day "Furryanimalus veryrareus - tick, Scalyanimal obscurensis - tick..."

I still have a fondness for orangs what with them being my joint favourite species, along with rhinos [generalisation] and jaguars - I don't think zoo nerds are allowed to like any ape - I'll have to check the rulebook

Quite correct, you aren't allowed to like just any ape - you have to like them all!

Well atleast I get to visit collections that don't have any primates!!
I went to the Wolf and Grizzly Discovery Centre even though it's very name dashed any hope of primates being present! Wasn't in the UK or containing cats either so good job the challenge hadn't started!
