Only just remembered this thread. I saw eight new species for my list a month or so ago at the Amazona Zoo in Cromer:

62. Common marmoset
63. Mara
64. Canadian otter
65. Ocelot
66. Puma
67. Jaguar
68. Scarlet ibis
69. Common boa

I've been to so few UK collections - relatively speaking - this year that I haven't gotten around to updating my total since March and have completely lost track of what I have seen and where subsequently :P

It's almost the end of the year and I figured that as I spent some time an UK zoo over the summer, I'd do a quick tally for fun of what my total would be with just one place on the list.

Hamerton Zoo

2. (Black and White) Ruffed Lemur
3. Ring-tailed Lemur
4. (Linnaeus') Two-toed Sloth
5. Giant Anteater

8. Long-nosed Potoroo
9. Common Wombat
10. Siberian Chipmunk
11. Black-backed Jackal
12. Ring-tailed Coati
13. Meerkat
14. Serval
15. Tiger
16. Cheetah
17. North American Raccoon
18. Striped Skunk
19. (Southern) Cassowary
20. Greater Flamingo

22. (Eastern Grey-)Crowned Crane
23. Marabou Stork
24. Snowy Owl
25. Blue & Yellow Macaw
26. White-cheeked Turaco
27. Lilac Breasted Roller
28. (Victoria) Blue-crowned Pigeon
29. (Laughing & Blue-winged) Kookaburra

Whipsnade Zoo
147 Brown bear
148 Rockhopper penguin
I'd pretty much given up on this as I didn't see that I was going to get any more of the random ones I don't already have before the end of the year. However, a trip to Dudley with friends this afternoon yielded a result I didn't think I would be getting:

Dudley Zoo
149 Asiatic black bear

First damn time I've ever seen her in all the visits I've had there, and I was just busily telling my friends we wouldn't see her today as she'd be all tucked up warm and asleep inside... and there she was, curled up right under us next to the wall!!
