I'd personally say they count either way, as the forests in question are temperate in climate and flora even if subtropical in latitude.

Depends on if you define them strictly by their relictual range or the wider original range; the European Tarpan (extirpated in the early 20th century) was a forest resident.

Then, I guess, somewhat unfortunately, we cannot solve this problem with a map. Climate is influenced by a variety of factors and not all areas will be symmetrical despite being at the same latitude. Whilst the map posted by @antonmuster is a very good guide, it certainly cannot solve the debate completely :)

Ah, I was thinking that the red shaded area was supposed to delineate the areas that wouldn't count.

I still don't agree with the premise. I am less knowledgeable about India and China, but the flora and fauna of the southern US is far too similar to temperate forests further north for me to consider it part of the "tropical forest" category - and the region still has four distinct seasons, with mild to cold winters. I think the same logic should be applied globally as well.

Are you sure the polls are closed? The top of the poll says that it closes at 8:44 PM ET (which is I think 2:44 AM British time), which gives another 6 hours before the poll closes.

Here, the documentation in images on this forum seems rather limited for both zoos.

Red panda

For both zoos i couldn't find any images that show the actual *enclosure*.
Zurich has two decent size enclosures making use of the natural slope of the hill for close views both from below and on treetop level (almost at least).

(almost) only at Zurich:

Lord Derby's parakeet, Swinhoe's striped squirrel, and chukar partridge (in fact one of the most entertaining enclosures at the zoo).

Zurich Mongolian wolves* on the left <-> Bronx brown bear on the right

*there are forests in Mongolia and the wolves are housed in a clear forest setting at the zoo, so I think it makes sense that they should apply here.





 
Only at Zurich: A full set of South American camelids (i.e. both species and their domestic versions), plus Darwin's rhea.

Only at Zurich: Koala together with kookaburra (also at Bronx) and rainbow lorikeet (not sure whether these aren't also at Bronx) in imo pleasantly naturalistic but somewhat controversially themed enclosures ('semi-arid-eucalypt-scrubland').
