ZooChat European Cup Round 2: London vs Amneville

Round 2 hasn’t quite worked out how I’d like, so I’m going to do two things. First, I’m going to put the Cup on hiatus until the Christmas period, as previously planned while I spend two weeks away with my now-uni graduate girlfriend. But I’m also going to review a couple of design features to perhaps change in the round of 32. Hopefully the combination of a few tweaks and a mid-season break get this one back on track.

First, though, we must finish round 2. Amneville pushed past Tallinn and Cabarceno on birds. Now it must try to get past London on carnivores as well.

However London Zoo's carnivore collection isn't good at all! I'd be amazed if it could beat anywhere on carnivores!
For me it depends what Amneville is like for birds

I think it beats Amneville on Carnivores because of the circus-style tiger show, which caused Amneville to be ejected from EAZA.

A quick count up gives Amneville 29 carnivore species, to 8 for London, there are some good zoos that aren't members of EAZA. The only stand out species at London is narrow striped mongoose, whilst Amneville has 2 bear species, 2 pinnipeds, more canids and a decent cat collection, no contest.

London for me, not as exciting as Amneville (species wise) but no show so London wins by being more ethical on carnivores, and birds (and ectotherms) is where London can hold its own!

To be fair, he never actually specified *which* Christmas period the hiatus would last until
