We have no way of verifying this data for accuracy.

There are 1,285 users who have entered their date of birth in their profile.

The vast majority of our users were born between 1980 and 1995 (which would put them somewhere between 22 and 37 years old).

This has been very interesting @Simon Hampel, thanks for putting it together. Would be nice to have (some of) this as a permanent feature of the site, I do miss the old stats section, was always interesting to see things like average post rates, etc.

Absolutely. Once the new version of the forum software has been released - I'll look at building a stats package for the site. It's something I've been wanting on my other sites too.

Discovered the "frequency" function in Google spreadsheets, so thought I would do a new age distribution chart.

Data ranges are "15 - 20yo, 20 - 25yo, etc"

I also calculated the median age of ZooChat members (who have added their date of birth to their profile) at: 34 years old. This means that there are just as many ZooChatters younger than 34 as there are older than 34.

ie. over 1,200 members have only posted once, just under 800 people have posted more than 2 times but less than 5 times, 68 people have posted more than 500 times but less than 1,000 times.


Another way of looking at post count distribution ... the following chart shows the number of users who have posted at least X times.

I've noticed this with some fascination, it seems to change on a weekly basis. :confused::D

Any chance of a stat on the most single-minded posters (i.e. posts on a single thread divided by total posts) to identify our more obsessive members. I suspect Farmer might be close to one. :)

Not sure if this is what you intended, but you can see a list of who has posted in a thread.

Click on the number of replies for a particular thread in the thread list:

that's cool, I never knew about that. I just tried it and it only works with threads since the new site? The older threads give a 0 result with just the name of the member who started the thread.
