ZooChat is 16 years old!

The spikes for ThylacineAlive and nanoboy are hilarious.

Mine moves up and down quite dramatically too, which I think is largely to do with my travelling and the consequent access to or lack of internet.

B40. Media per day - top users (180 day moving averages)

Same as before, but this time just looking at media.

Note that I've had to increase the moving average to 180 days to smooth out the charts somewhat - people tend to upload photos in large batches, which makes the media charts very choppy.

The side effect of using moving averages is that when a large number of photos is uploaded at once, we then get a squarish looking block for up to 180 days on the chart - so the square bits you see most likely represent a single large uploading event rather than sustained uploading periods.

I think it's a good thing he didn't keep that up, elsewise we would have had to break his fingers :p
Also, as I recall, the main reason was because he was stuck inside due to a blizzard? If the situation had continued, North America would be covered by an ice-sheet now. Of course I'm only assuming that the two things are exclusively connected.

My line on that chart is pretty nuts.

I'm not sure whether I should be proud or ashamed of this.

That said, I'm sure the 2019 stats will point out I have continued down the same route and am likely to continue to do so.

64. Users who have posted the most words

65. Users who write the most words in each post

I'm putting this here as a placeholder to remind myself that I need to do some programming work to calculate word counts for posts - after which we can start generating these stats.

Have you got around to doing these? It would be quite interesting to find out what the average word count in posts are. :)

No - I'm a long way off having time to do that - it's quite a big project to calculate, since I would have to update the database for every post to record the data so that I could then query it for the stats.

Too many more important tasks right now - including getting the forums upgraded to the new software (which is still several months away)

Well then good luck! I can imagine the difficulty with the word count. It sounds quite daunting :)
