What is the connection between the Woolly Mammoths and the Egyptian Pharaohs ?
Two possibilities here; one is that they were contemporaries, as the last mammoths were still alive on Wrangel Island while the pyramids were built. Secondly, there is an Egyptian mural that has been claimed to depict a captive mammoth, possibly being presented to a pharaoh as a tribute.
