Dartmoor Pumas - Iam very saddened to learn of the deaths of both Pumas , does anyone know why or what they died of please?? Thanks , Zupu.:(

Hey Zupu welcome to zoochat for one,

I know that the Beast of Dartmoor or the pumas, have been often reported in sightings and photos, We have a similiar case here in Australia! Next year's camp apparently were not allowed to go outside our cabins in case a puma gets us!

I know in 1988 there was a skull found, and several sightings from then on, also tooths and fragments were found. reports that also they are the cause of many deaths of cattle. Recetnly this year though a photograph has been taken and it is clear that it is some form of large cat.

I'm not sure about the deaths could you please tell me more about this,.

Once again great to have another person on board.

Dragon - i think Zupu was referring to the deaths of the two pumas at dartmoor ZOO rather than the beast of dartmoor although you are right on the informatin that you gave on the beast;).

Zupu - Welcome to zoochat! I'm afraid all i know is that they both died around the same time and i think it was some time this year:(. I got this information from a keeper at the park and they are building an enclosure for lynx where the pumas were.

Oh sorry my bad, unfortunate that they have passed on though, and at the same time, perhaps they were like lovebirds.
