A male tapir was born August 11 (the first in their almost 100 year history):

Guatemala's largest zoo shows off its 1st newborn tapir - La Prensa Latina Media

Guatemala’s largest zoo on Wednesday presented a baby tapir that was born on Aug. 11 and is the first in that facility’s nearly 100-year history.

The offspring of two tapirs named Maria and Andres that were received by the La Aurora Zoo at the beginning of last year, the newborn weighed three kilograms (6.6 pounds) at birth and has been a source of joy for the Guatemala City-based animal park, which also boasts a fourth tapir named Arabad.

More specifically, the zoo received 2.2 Emperor Tamarins via Zoo Leipzig (Germany). They were exchanged for the White-nosed Coatis that recently moved to Germany. From their social media:

"Thanks to Zoo Leipzig, Guatemala has the pleasure of having two pairs of Emperor Tamarin and as part of the exchange a family of coati born in the zoo, left to Germany as ambassadors of their kind in the country. Recently a group of coatis from Guatemala moved to the Leipzig Zoo and already have a big admirer: Our Ambassador, Ricarda Redeker, who was immediately excited to hear about her arrival in the German press. Along with the Guatemalan ambassador Jorge Lemcke they sponsored these naughty animals, where one of the females was called: Ricarda. Little Ricarda and her friends are a good example of German-Guatemalan friendship. Next year we will celebrate the 175th anniversary of this friendship."

Another new species for this rapidly expanding zoo. Two (1.1) Patagonian Sea Lions have arrived from Mundomar, Spain: Fotos: Mitch y Kira, los nuevos integrantes de la familia del Zoológico La Aurora
Sadly, Kira (the female sea lion) died recently due to health complications. The zoo explained she was a hybrid individual, though it wasn't specifed of which two species she was a hybrid. Now, only Mitch (the male sea lion) resides at the zoo. Here's a link to the news:

An off-display breeding facility has been opened to breed eight species of Abronia lizards with eventual plans for a breed-for-release programme. This endeavour has been established in collaboration with a local university and other relevant organisations - reported on their social media page.
