Hi all, I'm new on here. I am off to South Africa in Oct to visit the Quagga Project. Whilst i'm in cape town any zoo's you can reccomend?

:)

There is a primate place called 'Monkey Town' just south of Cape Town in Somerset West, which is worth a visit... see link

Monkey Town

Elsewhere there is a fairly basic lion park, and the opportunity to get up close to Cheetahs at the Spier winery near Stellenbosch ( they also have birds of prey there too)...see other link!

Spier

There may be other places that have popped up since i was last there...

Enjoy your trip!!

eastern cape

I would really recommend to go to the eastern cape, theres several locations with captive elephants,

South Africa: Elephant locations

Knysna just to name one of them, theres nice whale and white shark safaris, you have the Addo elephant park with not only big five, but I belive now they have big seven after they namaged to reach the cost with the park.

And then just drive along the coast line from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth is a wonderful trip with beautiful nature.
