La Palmyre zoo has received 1.1 Black lion tamarin from Jersey zoo
 
Does anyone knows which zoo got a male Rothschild's giraffe from Hannover, a few weeks ago?
There should be one female, too.
 
The "Espace Zoologique de la Boissière du Doré" (France, near Nantes) recently had a new pair of clouded leopards. Do you have any idea about his provenance (Howletts ?).

I also gone on a trip in August 2008 in Switzerland, Austria and southern Germany, where I visited 22 differents zoos.

Before, that, I have been in Singapore, Hong-Kong, Germany, the Netherlands, but, again a time, I have been impressive by the quality of the zoos visited, especially the contrast between the big institutions (Basel, München, Vienna, Zürich, maybe the best zoo in Europe !?) and the small parks very beautiful (Salzburg, Herberstein, Bern).

I began the last month a "logbook" about my trip : Times of visit, weather, best photo of the day, good\bad points of zoos, rating...

Le Pal

Le Pal a park divided in a zoo part and a rollercoaster park, will open in 2010 a new free walking South America aviary.

This aviary is built on the ex-asian elephant enclosure. After their transfer in the new plain in 2005, lowland tapir were presented in the Indian Temple.

Tapir are always presented in le Pal, a new plain was creates for them during this winter. Some other common neotropics mammals will be presented in this new installation.

Last year the park get 3.2. Sableantelope. End november 2009, the first offspring of this species was born in le Pal.

Which animal bonobo's did come from Stuttgart? Names, ages, mother, father? And how and where are they housed?

If anyone can help me, I'm putting together a database with statistics of some of the world's top zoos. Essentially, I need the annual attendance figures for the following French zoos:

Parc Zoologique de Paris, Parc Zoologique de la Palmyre
Zoo de Doue la Fontaine, Zoo d’Amnéville, Zooparc de Beauval

Can anyone help me? Is there a good internet source where these can be looked up?

Perfect!! Thank you, Yoman. I'm not publishing anything with this -- at least not for a while.

Followup question: There is no attendance figure for Parc Zoologique de Paris. I thought this was because it is closed for construction, but there are no figures for this zoo in the prior years either. Do you know what Paris' annual attendance was in the years prior to its construction closure?
