Zoos in Madrid

I'm planning a trip to Madrid and I was wondering if anyone can point out the zoos/aquaria to go to, and any particular exhibits to look out for. The only zoo I know of is the 'Zoo Aquarium de Madrid'. Thanks
 
The zoo aquarium is the main zoo in madrid and very well worth the visit. (A great collection with giant pandas, iberian ibex, iberean red deer, lots of bears, dolphins, koalas, etc. But most exhibits are pretty standard)
The second park i visited was Faunia ( Faunia.es ), which is more themed, but it has not as many species as the zoo does (also not all the obvious zoo animals like elephants, lions/tigers, giraffes etc.). But still a couple of very interesting species (Mazama deer, manatees, lots of rare penguins (at least rare in zoos), a huge nocturnalhouse, etc.) However i didn't spend a lot of time there and i liked the zoo aquarium much better.
These 2 i've visited, but i know there is a safaripark somewhere around madrid, and i've read about a small zoo somewhere which sounded a bit obscure (sorry forgot the name)
 
A couple of aardvark arrived to Faunia, for the "night house" they are registered in ISIS, ten naked mole rats too, and many animals...
 
Madrid zoo has just announced the birth of a giant anteater, looks like more and more collections in Europe are breeding these wonderful animals
 
Zoo Madrid open a new exhibit "Ayers Rock" 800 square meters,with Western grey kangaroo (Macropus fuliginosus) Bennet's Wallabies? (a mistake in the newspaper I think) the scientific name correspond to Red-necked wallabies(Macropus rufogriseus), and coming soon Yellow-footed rocky wallabies (Petrogale xanthopus xanthopus), one of the most valued species of marsupials and hard to see outside of Australia.
 
I was allready wondering where the offspring of the yellow-footed rock wallaby from Besançon would go, now i know.

Hopefully this species will get hold in Europe, they seem to be amazing animals and very good display animals too...
 
Yesterday a White rhino calf (sex unknown by the moment) was born in Madrid zoo, consequence of an Artificial Insemination, the sire is a male who lives in Selwo Aventura, in Estepona (Málaga)
 
The "Ayers Rock" it´s in the Australian fauna zone,where else? :D

Bennett's and red-necked wallabies are two names for the same animal.

I had always assumed they had used the Madrid bull as the AI sire.

Any individual stats (sex, name and age/origin) of the rhinos at Madrid or Selwo possible?
 
OK! :D It is part of the redevelopment of the Australian fauna zone, but I'm not 100% sure, because long time ago I'm not going to Madrid.
 
Yesterday I read in another forum, a local television channel from another Spanish province, announced the birth of a baby manatee in Faunia anyone knows anything more about that? I'm confused ...
 
Does anyone here have the "key statistics" on the Zoo Aquarium de Madrid?
That is: (a) Number of Species (b) Number of Specimens
(c) Size -- hectacres (d) Annual Attendance

a) over 400
b) I don't known exactly, but over 9-10.000 animals
c) 20 Hectares
d) at least 1.100.000 visitors
