Zoo El Jaguar and Serpentario Tropifauna both seem a bit ramshackle but other than a pacing young coati at the latter, the animals seemed healthy. I chalked up white nosed peccary and harpy eagle at the Zoo El Jaguar: young spider monkeys were a highlight at both. Sadly the Serpentario has no "hot" herps or reptiles other than snakes and chelonians, but some nice boas, and it was nice to see indigo snakes. There was also a nice swamp eel in the same building but the aquaria and vivaria were uninspiring. At Zoo El Jaguar, I enjoyed an active pair of grisons and of young jaguars. I saw both collections in one morning.
