Zoos with Polar Bears, Maned Wolves, Meerkats, and Red Pandas

Statements never to be heard in my lifetime,

The only meerkats in Europe.

Can scratch that one.

Thanks Pygathrix.

You can replace it with "The only short-clawed otters in Europe"

;)

So what will the next "ubiquitous to the point of boring all Zoochat nerds" species be? I'm impressed by the seeming proliferation of Giant river otters in European zoos, but I don't think they will ever evoke "yawns" like meerkats and ring-tailed lemurs, even if they do become more common.

Red river hogs. ;) And later giant squirrels and giant flying squirrels. Cute, colorful, monkey-sized but don't jump at keepers in fits of rage.

Yes! And even more rapidly going from 'unheard of' to ubiquitous, the Visayan Warty Pigs - wonderful animals but I've never seen a turn around in rarity quite that extreme.

Well, seeing that maned wolves are probably the least popular of the four species, I'd say that you should first find out if a zoo keeps maned wolves. If yes, and it seems big and not too specialized, it probably keeps the other three species too.
Actually polar bear are least common (at least in) european zoos. Zootierliste list them in 38, maned wolfes in 62. Meerkats, of course, are nearly everywhere (over 200 places).

There is only one place to see a polar bear in the UK now and the is the Highland Wildlife Park. His name is walker,he is gorgeous and a very happy bear.
They also house red panda
But don't have meerkats or maned wolves as they focus on mountain and tundra species
