Zoos with the Best Cat Collection

Tierpark Berlin (I was there last week):

- Amur Tiger
- Javan Leopard (wonderful)
- Indochinese Tiger (wonderful and extremely rare)
- Sumatran Tiger
- Snow Leopard
- Cheetah
- Margay
- Leopard cat
- Serval
- Sand Cat
- Persian Leopard
- Pallas Cat
- Bobcat
- Eurasian Lynx
- Clouded leopard
- Jungle cat
- European Wild cat

Are you certain there was a Jungle Cat in there? I wasn't aware of that.

Yes, I was there for a research in the Alfred Brehm Haus and I worked for two days with Christian Kern (Carnivore curator of the Tierpark). There were two jungle cats, but the curator told me that they are only temporarily at the Tierpark, because they are going to another german zoo during the renovation work of the Alfred Brehm Haus.

Thanks for confirmation, I didn't realise there were Jungle Cats there (couldn't find on Zootierliste and weren't there when I visited in 2015) -I'm keen to see a Jungle Cat as it's about the only cat species currently in Europe I've never seen. Unfortunately this year's foreign trips are already planned and they don't include Berlin. :(

One wonders, if that is true, why they were at Tierpark in the first place if they are being immediately sent away :p any photographs, @Marco Penello ?

Because they are part of the new project for the Alfred Brehm Haus;), but now the works in the indoor/outdoor exhibits of the right wing of the house make the temporary relocation necessary.
In the coming days I'm going to upload in the media section a lot of photographs that I took over there:).

I suspect you mean Golden Cat - which is planned for the new ABH refurbishment - rather than Jungle Cat, a species which although rather nice is less likely to pop up in such a project.

As of this week I have also reduced my total of species yet to have been seen to one - in my case, Iberian Lynx. The last two picked up were Southern Tigrina at Dortmund last week, and Jungle Cat at Jihlava in June 2017.

I’ve done Iberian lynx in December 2016 at Madrid, and I too did jungle cat on Sunday at Jihlava. Southern tigrina eludes me, however!

You have two options; Parc des Felins or Zoo Dortmund. Neither have Sun Bears, though :p

I’m hoping to be in France around either August or September time and so the former would tie in with this; Dortmund has been on my long term list for visiting for a number of years now.

The Prague zoo surprised me with their collection of cats. I saw:
- Asian lion
- Siberian tiger
- Malaysian tiger
- Sumatran tiger
- Amur leopard
- Javan leopard
- Clouded leopard
- Caracal
- Ocelot
- Fishing cat
- Jaguarundi
- Palawan leopard cat
- Oncilla
