What are the animals that are found at BUGS, according on the species labels ONLY

so far this is the animals that I know according to the photos (the species labels) that Shirokuma send me :

the others, I couldn't see or its not clear

I don't want to know what are species in there, JUST only the species according to the labels
 
I didn't understand the question. You want someone to go round BUGS with your list and write down every animal's name off the labels, except for the ones you've got? That's a big ask, and personally I'm not up for it, sorry. Perhaps someone else is more patient.
 
The Casson Pavillion was open today complete with new automatic doors -

Observed enclosures for Meercats x 2 , Prairie Dog , Hairy Aramdillo sharing with a Gentle Lemur , Kinkajou plus the indoor areas for the Tapirs and the Bearded Pigs.

a few of its exhibits were closed for refurbishment plus the Kinkajou area was roped off presumably to give a bit of extra privacy/quiet to the young Kinkajou.

ok at least take a picture of the labels that I required or that's missing

But that might be caused by the fact that yousuf89 is not a native speaker and not aware of proper UK etiquette.
 
Actually I live in Oman

I can't go to London Zoo because my holiday didn't start and will be after 2 and a half month and even if I go there, it'll be a waste of money because I'll be only going to that exhibit

All I want is to know what are the animals inside (according to the labels that are given to them) and if possible the one that are not in the picture

I heard that BUGS has around 140 species (mostly invertebrates) and according the photos that Shirokuma gave me was less that 42 species

Why would it be a waste of money doing your own research if you are that desperate for the info,to me it would be well worth while,that and you get the enjoyment of seeing it for yourself,and doing your own ground work instead of getting others to do it for you!

Ever thought that the other 100 odd species are off-show therefore cannot be seen,hence why Shirokuma only listed 42,just a thought as they do do a fair amount of off-show breeding of inverts at London!
 
Visiting yesterday, the African Bird Safari exhibit was looking very empty: ducks, two hamerkops, and some turacos labelled but not visible. Hopefully, the Abdim's storks and the other species normally seen here are just off show for winter - although I don't recall them being moved in previous years.

Nothing further appears to have happened to the aviaries on the north bank which remain empty and rather forlorn.

The Zoe's imperial pigeon which was on display is no longer listed in the inventory. Does anyone know whether it died, or has been passed on to another collection? As far as I know, it was the last of its kind on public display in Europe. Tawny frogmouths, charming though they are, don't appeal quite so much, when they are displayed in numerous aviaries (as they are here).

Indeed; when I visited in August 2014 that whole side of the zoo seemed pretty forlorn and abandoned.....

Died in mid-2013, sad to say.

Yes I noticed that this week ...there seems to have been a very recent pruning etc of the trees inside ....the storks and others were there thru the winter until that occured ... maybe they were moved wehilst that work was going on ?

5 (maybe 6?) enclosures of Tawny Frogmouth is certainly excessive, along with 4 or more each for Northern Hawk Owl and White faced Scops Owl! This has been the situation in that area for at least 3 years now, an improvement of that area is definitely overdue, but duplication of species seems to be something of a theme at London at the moment across the zoo! Surely this is not good in a zoo short on space as it is?

Indeed not :( especially when you consider that there are many more interesting owl species available for potential display, not to mention other possible avians.

I know it feels as repetitive as this, but it's not quite that bad! As of January 1st, there was just a pair of hawk owls, so I think they are just in the one enclosure. I think it's three for the white-faced owls, and about the same for the frogmouths. The point remains a good one, though.

I think the ZSL bird collection is a relative weakness, despite there being some attractive exhibits: the Blackburn Pavilion has definite charm, the two African walk-throughs are very nice (recent depredations notwithstanding), the penguin thing is excellent. And yet: lots of v common stock, a fair amount which is available pretty easily to buy in the avicultural world, very few choice species.

To take one of my favourite groups of birds: turaco-wise, the zoo currently has a number of red crested, Hartlaub's and Fischer's - at a guess, three of the four most widespread species (in captivity), and fairly easy to obtain on the open market. Where are the great blues? And is there any interest in maintaining such species?

Across the board, the story is the same. There are some very nice things, of course, and a bird's common-ness does not mean it is not interesting, but, even so, I never get the feeling that there is anybody there who is hungry for unusual species to show to the public.
 
Over the next 12 monthes the whole of ZSL will undergo a rebranding. No further info than that at the moment!
