Yes, the long-lived tree kangaroo that used to perch on the edge of the glass screen was a Goodfellow's tree kangaroo; however, it was a female, not a male.
 
As I understand it, the Poznan animals came from London.
 
Yes in Moonlight World, saw both just last Sunday. The grey slender loris were in the corner enclosure to the left of the Australian water rat (they used to be also in the three end enclosures to the left of the bats in the 'Creepy Cave' but I haven't seen any in there for the last couple of months). The potto are in the first two enclosures on the right as you enter the 'Creepy Cave'; they are quite shy and can be quite hard to spot so patience is advised!
 
I also saw both this week. The potto were exactly where you describe; the slender loris were in the three end enclosures. The other enclosure you mention (to the left of the water rats) seemed to house something that jumped, more like a bush baby? To my knowledge lorises creep rather than jump… It may be a temporary/new arrival, or I might just have got confused in the dark (easily done!).
 
Am pretty sure it was a slender loris, as it creeped along my first thought was 'oh, what are you doing here!' But as you say, easy to get confused in the dark! :p
 
Possibly surplus slender loris have been mixed with the Moholi Galago group then - as the latter taxon certainly were in the enclosure to the left of the water rats last I heard, and this would rather describe the individual volvox saw this week, whilst also accounting for the individual you saw :)
 
Yes, I think it was a galago I saw... the labelling was rather confusing too just to add to my uncertainty!... I'll try and find time to check again this week.

The young gorilla Alika was being wonderfully active this week too... not my favourite animal but very rewarding to watch her learning the ropes (literally!).
 
Giant panda have returned to the zoo!!!

Or rather, the zoo has just unveiled a statue of "Ming," ZSL's first panda, which is a gift from the Chinese people along with a £10,000 donation.

TBH, the statue looks more like Kung Fu Panda's Po rather than looking remotely realistic. It's located next to Ming's old enclosure,wherever that may be!

Didn't suppose that ZSL might aspire to getting real Giant Pandas. Sad.
 
Quite relieved that ZSL didn't go down the "rent a panda" route, judging by Edinburgh's experience!!
Although the Mappins is crying out for an Asian Ursine exhibit...

I would love London Zoo to restore the Mappin Terrace but the cost of getting that area into use would be so expensive, sad but true. I have happy childhood memories when there were brown bears and polar bears on the Mappin and I don't think that the area will ever see animals again.

Although “Ming” is often referred to as London Zoo’s first giant panda this is not strictly accurate; that should be one of the first five as five specimens arrived at the zoo on Christmas Eve 1938. Of these, one “Grandma” died early the following year (and can still be seen mounted in the Leeds Museum) while another “Happy” only remained a short while and ended up in St. Louis Zoo.

London Zoo retained three of the original five "Ming", "Tang" and "Sung" so, even discounting “Grandma” and “Happy”, “Ming” was only one of the first three albeit the most famous of them.

No idea how much it would cost to renovate, surely not much more than the cost of a new lion exhibit?

Don't worry, London wouldn't lose as many carnivores as Edinburgh has in the last few years! It hardly has any as it is, you would hardly notice the difference!

I think that the next development after Land of the Lions is completed might well be for the Snowdon aviary if ZSL get a grant which will be a start to improve that side of the Zoo
