How many white rhinos have been born at Whipsnade? And does anyone know if there bloodline goes to lots of other zoos

More than fifty southern white rhinos have been born at Whipsnade Zoo, the first being born on 23rd June 1971; Whipsnade born white rhinos have been sent to many other zoos.
Alas their last birth has been ages ago!
The issues being repro senescent cows and the same old old breeding bull seriously out of his prime!
I think the last successful birth was 12 plus years ago
A white rhinoceros was born at Whipsnade on
28th December 2007; this was the 54th to be born there.

After checking the studbook, I should also add that a white rhino was born at Whipsnade on 7th March 2008 too.

How do you check the stud book?
Fortunately the Rhino Resource Center (American spelling of "Centre") provides links to the rhinoceros studbooks.
Access "Rhino Resource Center" via google and, from the first screen, click "Literature"; you should get a screen returned from where you can search for the rhinoceros studbooks.

Zoos collaborating in the EEP work tirelessly to replicate natural processes and behaviour for their elephants - males in the wild do not stay with one matriarchal herd for their lifetimes, so this is a natural progression for Emmett and Minyong. Pay a visit to ZSL Whipsnade Zoo during October half-term to wish Emmett well before he starts his new life in Blackpool!

What will be interesting when researching Ming Jung the elephant in Belgium zoo , he is just a adolescent male only born in 2007 so trying to be dominant male will be interesting! Will probably be introduced to Donna first , as youngest breeding-aged female then see what happens from their.

No, twelve-year-old Ming Jung is due to move from Antwerp. We'll see how they learn to be dominant to cows. I hope Donna gets pregnant with him. I heard about Karishma that she might already be pregnant. Is it true?
I am pleased that it is Blackpool who will get the mature bull(Emmett) as those adult females really need an adult proven male if they are to breed soon. At Whipsnade the situation is not so pressing- Donna is still young and will no doubt soon mate with the new young bull. Karishma pregnant?

I don't know if Karishma is pregnant. I only heard that she could be pregnant, but it is not confirmed.
Yes, relocating Emmet to Blackpool is a very good decision. He is an experienced breeding bull and Blackpool needs breeding with Tara and Noor Jahan, later also with Esha. In Whipsnade, only breeding with Donna and Karishma is possible, Kaylee is very unlikely to be pregnant. She has not had a calf for over 10 years and is dominant, Ming Jung is still too young.
It would be better if Karishma was already pregnant really as it would give the new bull time to grow larger and mature more before she is ready to breed again. I rather doubt Kaylee will breed again, with this smaller bull, or at all for that matter.
