Whipsnade have released a video of the brown bears, but are naming only 2?
Does anyone know what happened to the 3rd sister?

Not sure exactly, but whatever happened to her it was probably at least a year ago because as far as I can remember I have only seen 2 bears on the last couple of visits.

Few bits from today's visit.
Nice start seeing the bongo's outside for a change although only 2,also they were joined by 4 young sitatunga.

The newly arrived Woolley pigs have had piglets.

There are 2 lots of building works going on.
1 just inside passage through Asia.
2 between sloth bear and emu.
Hard to tell what they will be for as early stages.

And finally the sea lions are no longer at whipsnade, can only assume they are now at YWP.

The first work is being done inside the drive through so doubt it would be that.
The second seems a little small unless they use the area currently being used for the emu as well.

Was there today. The work by sloth bears seems to be more work on the sewage works. The part but the drive thru seems to be a barn. Maybe a replacement for the one near there currently. Seemed to be some individual antelope there today right next to the works. Assume males being kept separate.

So nice to be back there. Sightings of the animals born over lockdown a highlight. The red panda and giraffe. The warty pig in the old Indian rhino enclosure have caused more damage than the rhino ever did!

Think we all appreciate just being able to visit our favourite zoos again! Was up at Whipsnade this afternoon, new barn just inside the passage through Asia looks smart.

Couple of things to note, a new male ostrich is in what was the oryx paddock and the oryx have moved across the road into the old kudu/impala enclosure

I think the male ostrich is Blue.. who had come from Longleat because he didn’t see himself as a ostrich and instead associated himself with the Zebras and so didn’t do well with the breeding ostrich females!.. so this is his new start

Aww bless em! Hopefully as you say it's a new start for him!

Hope he is joined soon as it's a huge enclosure and everytime I've seen him he is walking alongside the fence.
I believe there is also an issue with him biting at guests through the fence so wouldn't be surprised to see him moved.

And do you what it's better for Blue aswell and that's because when he was at Longleat yes he did hang about with the zebras and suppose to be breeding with the female ostriches but unfortunately it didn't work at all and Blue just carried on hanging about with the Grant's Zebras but now at his new home at Whipsnade hopefully should breed with the females like he's suppose to do

Yeah when I was there on Saturday he was standing at the fence trying to bite everyone walking past. Like you said I wouldn’t be surprised if he is moved especially as there is no secondary barrier stopping the visitors getting very close to him. Fortunately there was a couple of signs stating that guests should keep their distance as he is very ‘friendly’ ;)
