I see your point - where do you think the reptiles will go then?

The original plan for reptiles/invertebrates was/is to be part of the Phase 3 redevelopment of the Cloisters building ( Phase 1: butterflies, Phase 2: Aquarium…). Ultimately the Cloisters redevelopment supersedes the old Discovery Centre.
Sadly, AFAIK, there are no ambitious plans for the old sealion area-too costly and too archaic to do anything substantial to. I think we’ve all speculated as to what could/should be housed there but don’t get your hopes up! I could be wrong of course, but this is coming from someone who thought they’d have done something with the old elephant house by now…and look how that’s turned out!
Yes, as someone rightly pointed out to myself they are relocating their big cats for the time being - destinations unconfirmedRegarding the lions, would this be to coincide with the big cat upgrade at Blackpool possibly?
Alternatively and this is possibly far fetched- this proposal would make sense if moving wallace wasn’t an option on welfare grounds. So instead they might be setting up a new breeding pride at whipsnade with khari to relocate back to blackpool.
It seems such a shame that ZSL will be going out of Gaur, they have such a long and successful history of keeping and breeding them. I remember the ones at London, such a magnificent creature, if a cow can be classed as magnificent. I guess with no European breeding program there are no bulls available and Banteng seem to be everywhere!!
Glad to see they got home safely.it will be a real shame, such magnificent animals. But if the European breeding program is being ended, as you say there won’t be any bulls.
the lions have returned to Africa Alive

A new 10 month old female red panda has arrived. Today she was outside with Nilo for the first time with the keepers keeping a close eye on them.
