Jersey Zoo's troop of Sulawesi Crested Macaques are going to Whipsnade meaning Jersey will no longer hold the species
It gives the names of four individuals so I presume just 4. ( I can remember the days when their group numbered in double figures- even up to 20 or so!) It says they will join a 'larger group' - I don't know how many London have now, or where they will move to at Whipsnade? I didn't know they were moving to Whipsnade until this either.

As an aside I wish zoos would explain more about WHY they are moving animals in instances like this. It states how successful they've been in the past, but now?

The Sulawesi macaques from London are moving to the new monkey forest development at whipsnade. And I now assume the jersey ones will also join

Makes sense given it all looks a good size enclosure wise. The London macaques are fairly old too I think so some good continuity and perhaps even the chance in future of some little macaques! Though not from these groups first perhaps. Exciting stuff. As Pertinax mentioned though another species out for Jersey so less fun for them.

They are replacing them with another species. I would save judgement until they've announced what that is....

I wasn't passing 'judgement' simply saying it was a species leaving which I always think is a shame for regular visitors who enjoy them. As a regular visitor I always miss animals when they move on and 'replacement' is fine but you can have a moment to think of the ones you'll now see somewhere else. So perhaps don't be defensive on Jersey's behalf.

I am certainly going to enjoy the macaques in their new home.

Your words were "less fun" which sounded like a judgement to me but having read your response I appreciate what you meant now

The macaques from Jersey are 3 males:
1) Kato (alpha male)
2) Koko (his brother)
3) Nanas
And 1 female:
1) Bella (always been the lowest ranking)

So if we assume the stock from London is correct that would make the group 4.5
This sounds like another case of 'species fatigue' where a previously longterm successful group finally winds down to just a few individuals, often closely related. The choice is then whether to just allow them to die out, renew the group with fresh individuals (usually females) for breeding or, as here, replace them with something else.

I remember the Sulawesis back in the day at Jersey as a large thriving group of around twenty members, with a big chunky male 'Hitam Manis' as the original(?) dominant male. Presumably these last few are his descendants.....provided they can amalgamate the two groups successfully, 4.5. at Whipsnade sounds a suitable composition, but possibly the females will all be rather old for more breeding?

Does anyone know where the anoas are coming from?

At least one of them is already there and living (and signed) in the enclosure at the top of the passage through Asia where the Babirusa were before they moved to the enclosure with the langurs. You can see that enclosure on foot if you walk to the car entrance and stay the near side of the cattle grid before the no pedestrian signs.

Some new guenons would be good, currently only represented by the aged, nonbreeding pair of Diana Monkeys.
I suppose that could be easily sorted? Has anyone even asked keepers or senior staff at Whipsnade?

What is left of the reticulated giraffe group at Whipsnade? Do they still hold a breeding group? I heard they recently sent a male Khari (EEP/EAZA recommended transfer) to the zoo in Brno, Czech Republic) and do they have giraffe cows and bull even left?

(NOTA BENE: After infuriaringly prolonged delays in post Brexit paperwork and bureacracy stalling his transfer to the European Continent (did anyone even see that coming years ago ... that this would be the end result)?
