I've seen all three, and I think all three in the same collection, London in 1988
It's unusual for me to disagree with you, Rob, but London Zoo had only two species of cassowary in 1988, single-wattled cassowary and Bennett's cassowary (dwarf cassowary); both were kept in the old Stork & Ostrich House.

However there were also double-wattled cassowary at Whipsnade in 1988.

After also having been at the zoo today (together with MagpieGoose, an unexpected surprise!), we saw Emma with a brand new baby Sumatran orang.

And the zoo have today announced the birth of a baby Sumatran Orang born to Emma, which, confusingly, they claim was born on Sunday 17/Monday 18 December (link here).

Strangely enough none of the featured species were added to the webaite but the Philippine mouse deer are there now.

Why did they have to make a Xmas episode in the middle of the summer? A really annoying hour of pointless Xmas crap. That one Chimp wasn't ranting because it didn't get a pressie, it was ranting because it could see the bloody absurdity in seeing keepers dressed in shorts and wearing xmas hats and tinsel in the middle of June.

Irrespective of when this particular piece of nonsense was filmed, I actually find the general 'humanisation'(or should it more correctly be 'personalisation') of so many animals in our Zoos nowadays, what with the Christmas presents, birthday celebrations, cakes, halloween pumpkins etc all rather disturbing. Many people will say 'its just harmless fun' and/or 'good enrichment' but I feel it presents what are effectively still wild animals in totally the wrong light. Rant over....

Yeah well, cannot please everyone and better to piss off a few people than the majority of your visitor base.

99% of Zoos will pander to the masses, how does this forum not know this by now?

It was one of the weaker episodes, and I agree about all the Christmas hat nonsense.

All collections pander their animals, keepers treat the animals under their care as family this is what we do with any animal world naturally.
Can't understand why people moan about enrichment activity for any species as being held captive in small spaces (compared to the space in the wild) would drive any one mad.
Great work to keepers from all collections around the world keep it up in 2018 and a merry xmas to all.

Have long been fully aware of that. It doesn't make me like it any the more though. I strongly feel that it presents the animals in humanised terms 'to the masses' so they come to see the animals in that light too, and therefore their perception becomes very removed from what they really are. We are promoting wild animals in zoos into the 'domestic pet' area with all this paraphernalia.

.
Who's moaning about enrichment activity? Presenting animals as mini-human beings is a totally different issue IMO. Animals are not 'driven mad' in captivity either- that's a curious statement for any regular zoochatter to make I think.
