Zoo Leipzig Zoo Leipzig news 2018

Orang-Utan female SATU (11) arrived from Berlin Zoo. She is going to travel to Ramat Gan Zoo after a quarantine of three months.
 
There isn't a question page for Leipzig Zoo so I will ask it here, what is bear castle being used for?
 
Dr. Kolpin, director of Wilhelma Stuttgart and studbook keeper, told a zoofriend, that bilbies are going to arrive in 2018.

Western Chimpanzee males KOFI (*2005 in Leipzig, ROBERT x ULLA) and BANGOLO (*2009 in Leipzig, PATRICK x DORIEN) were shipped to Magdeburg Zoo to breed there.
 
Second Lesser flamingo hatched.

Western gorilla born December 6th last year (ABEEKU x KUMILI) is male and got the name KIO.
 
6 Western eurasian griffon vulture are back at the zoo. They already moved into the Great aviary and will join 25 European bald ibis in the now walkable aviary.
 
10th healthy Lesser flamingo hatched.

A female Nile lechwe was born...

A female Linnaeus' two-toed sloth arrived from a zoo in Denmark after the former female to be (* at Wilhelma Stuttgart) had been identified as a male.

The Zoo spend more than 1 Mio. Euro last year for the purpose of conservation of species:

- Breeding facility of Darwin frogs in Chile (founded and conducted by the zoo)
- Wild Chimpanzee Foundation
- Endangered Primate Rescue Centre in Vietnam (conducted by the zoo)
- Conservation and breeding centre of Sumatra Rhinos in Malaysia

They want to expand their engagment in Vietnam by taking responsibility of Cat Ba Conservation project.

Am I not right in saying there is only one Sumatran Rhino in captivity in Malaysia and probably zero in the wild?
