Movie review rant 2018

No Hawkeye and Ant-man are on house arrest. There is a one line explanation said by black widow

@BigNate I think you should stop posting stuff that happens in the movie, even if it's minute details. I understand where Ant-Man and Hawkeye are during the film, but we're discussing Avengers 4.

How could you forget? It's the most exciting thing to happen to Hawkeye since Avengers Assemble when he got taken over by Loki! :p

Oh come on was that actually exciting:p! I mean, he just shot a few arrows and had a small fight with the Black Widow (or was it the Black Widow? My memory of that scene is hazy).

So can this Infinity War thing be watched as a stand-alone movie?

I've seen Civil War. I have only seen the first two Thor movies and not Ragnarok. I've seen all the Captain Americas I think. I've only seen the first Guardians and not the second one. The Ironman movies are pretty forgettable so I know I've seen at least some of them but they're all the same really. Same with the Avengers movies - they all roll into one. I haven't seen a Spiderman movie because Spiderman sucks. I haven't watched the Black Panther movie because I saw him in that Captain America movie and he was such a boring character that why would I? Is the Green Lantern included in this lot? Because I've seen that and it was not good...

So if I go watch Infinity War will I just be like "whuu?"

I think you should be good to watch it and enjoy it, with the movies you have watched. I would definitely recommend watching Black Panther and Dr.Strange some time though, as those two were very good movies and do help in understanding Infinity War. (I admit, I wasn't convinced when seeing Black Panther in Civil War but his own movie is very good).

And don't worry, Green Lantern is by DC, a different company alltogether.

Yes, I think to properly understand Infinity War, you’ll have to watch most of the movies in the MCU. As @Vision has said, you’ll definitely have to watch Doctor Strange and Black Panther, otherwise you won’t understand parts of the movie. Thor: Ragnarok is also important, otherwise you won’t understand the beginning of Infinity War (that isn’t a spoiler, right?:p).

I've thought about this as I have friends who don't watch comic book movies much and, if you really don't want to go back and watch all the MCU films, there are five which I think are necessary to best understand Infinity War:

1) The Avengers (the first one). It would introduce you to the core Avengers, the first infinity stone (though they don't call it that in the movie but you'll understand when watching IW), Loki and his attack on New York, and Thanos himself albeit briefly.
2) Guardians of the Galaxy (the first one). It would introduce you to the main Guardians (only one member is added in the second movie), another infinity stone as well as information about the stones in general, the Collector and Knowhere, and really introduce you to Thanos.
3) Captain America: Civil War. It would introduce you to all the new Avengers added to the team since the first movie, Black Panther and Spiderman, and the status of the Avengers and the world for IW starts.
4) Doctor Strange. Maybe not totally necessary, but it's good and would introduce you Marvel's version of magic as well as the character himself and yet another infinity stone.
5) Thor: Ragnarok. Again maybe not totally necessary but again it's good and would give you a lot of character building for Thor, Hulk, Loki, and Heimdall which would make certain scenes in IW have more impact. It also ends basically where IW begins so might be worth checking out.

Hope this helps :)

In that case you're probably as set as you're going to be to watch it :p I think you'll be able to pick up on everything just fine.
