Are you sure it was a Harrier Hawk that you flew as that would be pretty special?Me and my wife Lynsey were there yesterday too, as part of our zoo tour. We took part in the Tiger and Predator Experience, it was worth every penny, we got to feed both Tigers, and the Lynx as well as walk in with the white wolves and fly a Harrier Hawk. The keeper told us they are looking to expand and would like to bring in another "big animal"; his preference was Snow Leopards. We had a great day, although the zoo is small, the day went quick if you incorporate all the feeds and shows, it was good to see a Kinkajou for the first time.
Went today and enjoyed my visit.
Enclosures seemed good and spacious.
Baby otter born 2 months ago which looked cute
Anyone know of any future plans here
Some more updates for the park:
- Red panda sisters will arrive from Birmingham WCP.
- 8/10 Humboldt Penguins will arrive (hopefully by Easter) from Welsh Mountain Zoo.
- An unnamed species of vulture will be acquired.
- There are hopes to purchase some adjoining land to create an African Savannah.
Just next to the tigers - stupidly, I forgot to take any photos as I was busy talking to the keeper.Do you know where the Penguin exhibit is being built. I know they've had the Red Panda exhibit ready for some time.
I presume the sisters from Birmingham will be the kits that were born 4/5 months ago, so I would imagine they wont get them for a few months yet ?

Yes that's correct - they won't be recieving them until they're at least 6 months old.
It's the old paddock. There was a few photos on their Facebook page last month. Log In or Sign Up to ViewIf next to the tigers, is that in the old paddock where the deer was or at the start of the wetland section ?
That's exactly what I thought. Who's going to break the news to them about penguins and flight. What's with all the massive wooden posts ? You surely don't need fencing that high for Penguins ???
