Chester Zoo Chester Zoo Discussion, Speculation & Questions 2019

I'll be visiting over the next two days and I'm pretty good on what I want to see and where it is, but are the Boelen's pythons on-show anywhere? And are the pademelons still in two different enclosures, in Islands and by the giraffes?

Thanks in advance. :)

Boelens - last time I visited these were in RotRA.

Pademelons - in Islands and in the old anteater/kangaroo exhibit.

Anyone got any tips on when's the best time to see the anteater active? And do they still have jumping rats in with the aye-ayes? Got a very frustrated child who needs to see an anteater apparently, and who also misses the jumping rats at BNC... :p

Yes the Jumping Rats are still mixed with the AyeAye's. The Giant Anteater - try first thing in the morning and then towards the end of the day if you don't see it first thing

Cheers, she was never bothered about anteater until she saw my photos from Hamerton! :D

Sounds like you've got a zoo-nerd in the making there :D

Now that Indali Hi-Way the elephant calf has fully recovered from EEHV,is she now immune to the virus and not likely to fall ill with it again? If this is the case in a few years Chester could be home to two breeding Asian Elephant cows, providing that Aung Bo is sent to another animal collection.

When did they announced she was fully recovered?

The planning application for Grasslands goes Infront of the council a week on Tuesday I believe, a few issues have been raised but hopefully will be resolved and planning granted, stoping any delays.
