What breed of goats and chickens are featured in the new Farmyard exhibit?
Not sure about the chickens, but the goat breeds are Saanen, LaMancha, Nubian, and Nigerian Dwarf.

That's terribly sad news.
I have a feeling that Atlanta was going to receive new elephants for their expansion (so far having obtained Msholo from SDZSP), and Riverbanks' elephants seemed to be perfect candidates. (Coincidentally, Riverbanks AND Atlanta are looking to obtain southern white rhinos for their old elephant exhibits. White Oak might be the place where they obtain said rhinos.)It sounds as if Robin and Belle were about to be transferred out, but it seems no zoo has offered to take them in? This seems strange, especially as survivor Belle is only 36.

Yes, I read that in the post above.Robin won't be making the journey. Riverbanks Zoo elephant dies at 49
Belle was born in 1981, this year she is 38 years old. Both were to go to Atlanta. Now only Belle can. It is also possible that he will eventually move elsewhere and Atlanta will receive more elephants from elsewhere. This seems strange, especially as survivor Belle is only 36.
I was surprised at Indianapolis Zoo that there were rock hyrax in one of the zoo’s wall-through aviaries. This is as close to free-roaming I’ve seen them. Also free roaming.rock hyraxes any other zoos do this?
It's possible for the hyraxes at Brookfield to do so, I think.I was surprised at Indianapolis Zoo that there were rock hyrax in one of the zoo’s wall-through aviaries. This is as close to free-roaming I’ve seen them.
No while theres no barrier, they are not free roaming, they just live in an open enclosureIt's possible for the hyraxes at Brookfield to do so, I think.
Their crocs (Sunda gharial by the looks of them) got rehoused at Fresno Zoo (prior to renovating the ARC)!
