It is not confirmed in any way other than data mining from what I have seen. That being said, it does make sense if the game is trying to be as realistic as possible with the genetics and other parts of this. I don't think it should be, as one of the game's goals is a conservation focus and having hybrids will remove that focus, but it does make sense on why they could be in the game.
 
The only question I have about hybrid is why they went with tigon when ligers are much more common. Let's hope we don't get liligers...

I wonder if the game will penalize you for breeding hybrids.

Who knows. Easily preventable in code I would assume, but they may have made it possible.

On another note, do you guys think we'll see a marine pack of some kind in the future? I know personally I have a few ideas for dolphins, sea lions, and sea otters I'd love to do.

No expansion packs have been announced yet. Apparently water is difficult to program so we may not get an aquatic one, unfortunately. Though I hope they're able to do it, I'd love to make a dedicated aquarium.

I know, too early for that! Hopeful though for marines at some point!
 
I think an aquarium or marine life expansion will be better off as a complete expansion pack as opposed to dlc. There could be so much new elements added to the game that I feel like it’s worthy of making it its own separate thing. I also think that we should have some form of extinct animal pack as well (yes, I know). I would have no problem with Planet Zoo releasing a pack focusing on Cenozoic mammals like how ZT2 Extinct Animals did; with JPE as Frontier’s dinosaur game, it be better than just two games focusing on dinos, although we could get far more accurate representations from Planet Zoo.
 
If we don't get giant aquariums with dolphins and porpoises, I wouldn't complain with smaller tanks - similar to the terrariums - that could be customized with different fish.

I do not want to see extinct species in Planet Zoo. People who want that kind of thing can go play JWE.
 
I also don't wanna see prehistoric animals in Planet Zoo. Planet Zoo is the most realistic zoo game that have ever been released, with its management style and details on the smallest things really impress me. I think adding prehistoric animals would throw off the whole "realistic zoo management" vibe, as they don't exist anymore and we wouldn't know how to properly care for them in captivity.

This link might have already been posted, but it says that none of the Deluxe Animals will be available in the Beta, as well as some of the other species that have already been announced. Also, none of the saves that we make will be transferable after the launch.

They also say October 4th is World Animal Day, and that they have many reveals planned for that day.

Tomorrow is October 4th, World Animal Day. The link in the quote above suggests that there will be multiple reveals made. I suggest you follow them on twitter or Instagram, but I’m sure anything new will also get posted here too.

Loved putting jags in on Zoo tycoon.

They do need to sort out sizing of enclosures, one hippo enclosure with 7 animals in is bigger than my two african wild dog enclosures, my mixed plains exhibit, my african buffalo and mandrill exhibit...probably could include the nile monitor ones in too..
 
They also need to seriously slow down the time in-game. In the game 3 seconds equals 1 day! It’s ridiculous; how can we connect to our animals like what Frontier says if they die in 15 minutes?
