My home zoo is the Milwaukee County Zoo and I think we have a really good aviary. I'm wondering what other zoos have very good aviarys.

From the ones I've visited, my favorites are Milwaukee, Lincoln Park, and San Diego Zoo with their 3 massive outdoor aviaries and the various birds and smaller aviaries throughout the park. Bird World at Denver was also very nice but not my favorite but it's closed now. Hopefully they have plans to build a new aviary or multiple around the zoo because for a zoo with such a prolific off exhibit bird breeding program, they have relatively few species on exhibit.
My favorite aviaries I have seen are at Milwaukee and Toledo.
Bronx and Leipzig, followed by North Carolina are probably my favorite aviaries that I've seen.
The most impressive aviary (with the most underwhelming collection) I remember is the one at Chiang Mai Zoo.
The most impressive memory of birds in an walk-through aviary is a toss-up between Walsrode’s large aviary when the Montezuma’s oropendolas were still in there, or the one hall at Pairi Daiza with 5 male greater BoPs in it, one of which was displaying.
I haven’t had a perfect match yet, between aviary and collection.

In terms of sheer density of aviaries throughout the zoo, I find San Diego Zoo hard to beat. I also enjoyed the Safari Park’s collection of larger birds like Blue Cranes and especially the Shoebill.
Two people have talked about the old San Diego zoo aviaries bug the new one at Africa Rocks is absolutely amazing.
Even though it’s fairly small with not many species, i really love hamertons outback walkthrough. There’s flocks of small finches and budgies, with brushtail possums, masked lapwings and wombats too

Well, technically, they are in the building (in side enclosures) but you don’t walk with them
Are you including exhibits with other non-bird species such as ZooPark Beauval's hippo exhibit and Buffalo Zoo's Rainforest Falls?
I was thinking about only or mostly bird houses
NYC - I really like the Sea Bird Aviary at the Bronx Zoo (one of the more underrated exhibits at that zoo). It is home to Chilean birds like Magellanic penguins, Inca terns, Peruvian pelicans, and a variety of ducks.
The Tropics House at the Central Park Zoo is also lovely with an array of bird species from around the world. My favorite exhibit there would happen to be the Sea Bird Aviary (Antarctic penguins as well as puffins)
At the Queens Zoo, the aviary and thick-billed parrot/burrowing owl/king vulture exhibits are also lovely and immersive.
Elsewhere- Cincinnati Zoo's Wings of the World is also a great bird house because it has a big variety of bird species, including Antarctic penguins.
St. Louis Zoo and Detroit Zoo have the best Antarctic penguin exhibits I've ever seen.
Dallas World Zoo & Aquarium has amazing immersive free-flight aviaries for South American rainforest birds mixed with fish and monkeys. They also have exhibits for African and little blue penguins as well as American flamingos, but they're a bit on the small side.

The aviary dug in the rock gives a natural and spectacular aspect to the whole it is really beautiful to see.
