They separated the enclosure?
I knew there were problems between bongos and kudus but I didn't think they were going to separate the enclosure.

Another baby manatee is expected. And we should know in a few days if one or more baby pandas will arrive.
 
Okay, thank you for the information. The separation is undoubtedly done behind the building and is therefore hardly visible or I have to buy glasses ...:D

It must be otherwise the kudus don't have access to their indoor quarters. I guess the cranes are in the bongo area?
 
No I think that the separation is done behind the building by a barrier no doubt but there must be two entrances to the buildings.
The cranes are with the bongos yes.

I meant that the separation is the behind the building :)
I was saying that the barrier must be behind the building otherwise the kudus wouldn't be able to access their indoor enclosure, but because it is and there are two entrances, they can both access the indoor area.
Does anyone know which species was being aggressive to the other or was it just they didn't get along?
 
Ok sorry understanding problem. We were both actually saying the same thing.

I just think the two didn't get along.
It is a better decision since the two species can hybridize it seems to me.

Yes, hybrids between Himalayan and Chinese red panda have happened in the past. I thought the ISB kept both populations well apart for years now!

Damn different threads confused!

How one would even contemplate mixing close Tragelaphus species....., but the post were confusing. It seems Beauval shows both in SEPARATE yet close exhibits, right .. demonstrating how different forest or from desertic steppe thorny brushwood related taxon.
 
In fact it was an exhibition first made for cohabitation but ultimately it was split in two.

Great to see they is still enrichment going on. The last one is a Nile hippo, though :)
 
Pygmy marmosets have been added to the dome. They share the island in the manatees pool with the golden lion tamarins and the red titis.
