The new Spider Monkey seems to be getting on well with the females. The Ape House has re-opened to visitors (hurray!). I could see only one Hyacinth macaw and the remaining Roadrunner had been replaced by a Toucan up in the parrot aviaries area.
@Gigit how are all of the Western Lowland Gorillas and Bornoan Orangutans, also how did both Ape species react to seeing the public in their house for the first time in over 6 months?
Are there any arrivals or transfers planned for the Western Lowland Gorillas or the Bornaian Orangutans? I know that prior to the Coronavirus pandemic, there, were plans for Mali the Bornoan Orangutan and her young daughter Tatu to move house and join male Orangutan Tigga at Colchester Zoo. This move has gone totally unmentioned since the national pandemonium that I have just mentioned. If Mali and Tatu's planned move still happens there will obviously be space for two new females too become members of Paington Zoo's Orangutans. As Awan at Monkey World is reaching adulthood and still resides with her Dad Tuan my theory is that Awan could possibly move to Paington to fill the gap left by Mali and Tatu's departure. I'm not aware of the situation with the Studbook for Bornain Orangutans, but I'm sure that there are more females within the European population that could relocate to Paington Zoo.
Additionally there has been talk for years regarding Gambira moving to another overseas zoo.
