Animals That Simply Don't Interest You

I entirely agree. Thats what I've been trying to tell my friends. If only they had gained interest....

As humans we tend to naturally be drawn to the large and macroscale but if we adjust / hack our optics and look at the small and the microscale in terms of the natural world so many of the smaller species are just so much more interesting.

And its also completely natural to be drawn to the larger animals early on in animal interest, but the more I learn about animals the more I am mostly interested in small animals now. I remember the time when I thought Proturans were so boring. Oh how I have changed.

Wow! Thats super exciting! I have always been interested in microscopic animals. I even have a pond in my backyard full of algae! I don't own a microscope sadly, So I never get to see much microscopic animals. What is your favorite species of Loriciferan?

Monkeys and lemurs, however, are adorable.

This can apply to monkeys and lemurs, too, ya know. They both have this kind of behavior and I have read about capuchins that learned to use coins to buy treats and one capuchin was being sneaky and stole some coins. Which shows that they, too, are greedy. I find all primates to be fascinating, actually. And great apes don't necessarily have to be cute (except for the babies), because their personalities, playfulness, and intelligence make up for everything else.

Fair enough! I couldn't chose a favorite so I asked someone else what they thought. But the true beauty of microscopic creatures is actually just their designs and shapes in my opinion. If I could stare through a microscope and see microscopic animals, I could watch them for hours. They have such grace.

Marmosets, tamarins, tarsiers and lorises interest me over mountain gorillas, chimps or orangutangs.

Ring tailed mongoose, quolls, weasels, sand cats and bush dog interest me over lions, tigers, hyena, wolf and bear.

and so on and so on...

Yes, that what I was trying to imply. But larger animals that are not known well such as saola, giant squid, and stygiomedusa gigantica are pretty interesting, but ABC's are not as groovy imo. Thats why when I' m bored I just open Escape from the ABCs...

Hmmmmm, yeah, even though saolas or Sumatran rhinos are interesting they just don't intrigue me as much as the smaller species / taxa.

I find bonobos unappealing and don't find myself gushing over animals in the genus panthera. I am not a big fa of ceteceans as well (however, there are some exceptions.)

Not to mention Metallic green bees, Blue buttons, Frosted hairy dwarf porcupines, Jellynose, Tripod fish, Jewel wasps, Vaquitas, Margarita island kangaroo rats, Uta hick's bearded saki, Calabar angwantibos, Monkey-faced bats... etc....
Hopefully someone had to google some of these.

The jewel wasp along with the Eurasian cuckoo might be one of the only parasitical organisms (brood parasite in the case of the cuckoo) that I find aesthetically beautiful.

They don't have to be beautiful to be interesting in my book! But Most animals I find beautiful in their own way so mainly that's only specific to a few animals.

I dont think so either, they can be interesting but not beautiful.

Many parasites I find interesting but only the two I've mentioned I find to be actually beautiful to look at.

I disagree. I find bonobos extremely interested. They're much more active than other species and exhibit behaviors that aren't common in other species. Learning to understand their behavior and observing their group dynamics is one of my favorite things about them. They will always be my favorite animal to see.

What makes Bonobos unappealing compared to other apes, like Chimpanzees? I find Bonobos to be one of the more interesting great apes.

I think they are way too human, from the bright lips to partial hairlessness. And I don't like how people are into their "peacemaking".
