Are there any zoos in the middle east other than Faruk Yalcin Zoo in Turkey that keeps pygmy hippos?

@EW, it ain't that easy ... with so many pygmy hippo as unknowns particularly within Asia. I know cause I have tried to keep track of those .... too.

I would say I have pretty much North America, S. America and Europe (80% coverage) and Australia covered. Asia is however a completely different matter, especially ones alive or where moved on to. You are also reminded that a few remain in unexpected places in Africa.

Indeed, the last part of Bristol zoo's instagram mentions this:
"She'll be part of a breeding programme at Gulf Breeze Zoo in Navarre. The award-winning zoo has bred pygmy hippos in the past and is hoping to repeat that success with its new arrivals."

That would explain why I couldn’t find anything. Gulf Breeze isn’t a member of the AZA, correct? I know the United States has a few individuals that aren’t in AZA facilities..

The female calf was born May 3 to breeding pair Nadet and Yaya. This is their fourth calf since 2013. What I could make from the transliteration was that either both or one pygmy hippo arrived from Korat - Nakhon Ratchasima Zoo (some 270-280km south from Khon Kaen).

I wish we had some Thai Zoochat forumsters!
 
There are TONS of Pygmy hippos in South Africa...
They all stem from a Breeding centre called mokopane biodiversity centre, quite successful in breeding to the point where it is easy to obtain this specie in the private sector. :D:confused:;)
