My thoughts! If they're legit going to display that, that's really impressive. Once that exhibit opens it'll be worth the long day trip to go see it!

I don't think it is a mistake. This is a list of species that they intend to be on exhibit when Into the Deep opens in 2022. Maybe they should note that the species will be on view in 2022.

Many of these species were also in the first iteration deep sea exhibit back in the 1990s.

But some of the other species supposedly in this display say that they are not on view.

It used to be listed at this link: https://www.montereybayaquarium.org/visit/exhibits/into-the-deep. It appears it is no longer listed there. Apparently they plan/planned to keep the species, though.

As someone who's checked the website for a few years, I can say that the giant siphonophore page existed before Into the Deep was announced. I certainly hope the Praya news is true though!

The exhibit isn’t open , but this is a picture with people edited onto it to show what it will look like. The same picture (but with shadows instead of ppl) is on the floor plans board we see on the NYT article.
