There are two new wildebeests at the zoo. Shades of Nature has the Albino Alligator along with an Albino Rat Snake, and baby alligators. Also, the new ostriches will be placed in the Auodad exhibit. The Bactrian camels are coming soon and are on loan for one year. I give credit to “I Am The Lion Rider’s” new video of the Roger Williams Park Zoo for this information.
Other information according to the video:
- The wildebeests are blue wildebeest Connochaetes taurinus
- The zoo is trying to breed Masai giraffes, Matschie's tree-kangaroos, and snow leopards
- Relating to snow leopards, there is apparently a new snow leopard from another facility for breeding-related purposes?
- The zoo will have Bactrians from one year every year until they feel comfortable with building the tiger exhibit.
- According to one of the keepers, the next major update to the zoo is redoing the World of Adaptations building into an "Island" building.
