No, sorry. The animal management staff member that I was with did not tell me the names.Wow, four calves!! Do you know which females are pregnant?
Kifaru, Kali, and Zenzele all had calves in December so the earliest that the three could have another calf would be spring/summer 2022.I would guess rhino cows Kifaru and Kali at the very least are due for another calf. And most probably so too are the cows Zenzele and Anan-Zenzele.
If my predictions turn out and serve me up to be. correct, then what?
In total the Wilds has 18 Southern White Rhinoceros, the largest herd outside of Africa. Out of those 18 I am not sure how many are males and females.Kifaru, Kali, and Zenzele all had calves in December so the earliest that the three could have another calf would be spring/summer 2022.
I did some research and I believe there are 7 adult females at the Wilds so my guess is that the other four (Firefly, Anan, Agnes, and Bossy Boots) are likely the pregnant females.
To be fair, I think in numbers the Rum Creek private breeding facility has already surpassed any conventional zoo in terms of number of white rhino at the facility now.In total the Wilds has 18 Southern White Rhinoceros, the largest herd outside of Africa. To my mind they would be most apt to establish a pure-breed American bison herd with First Nations. Would be a window on a native win win project.More Wilds Updates
Che Chu the Domestic Bactrian Camel is pregnant! The father of this soon to be born calf is Gobi. Che Chu has had many calves before this one but she has not cared for any of them. If Che Chu does not raise this calf, The Wilds plans to stop breeding her.
The Wild’s Bison Disclaimer
All of the American Bison that can be seen from The Wilds, do not live on The Wilds property or are owned by The Wilds. The bison are not pure-breed and belong to a farm right next to The Wilds. Every once and a while the animal management staff will help take care of the bison but the bison are completely separate from The Wilds.
I think you might be right on cow Agnes. Female Firefly has never calved till date ... Unsure about Bossy Boots (born 2013/2014?), probably Agnes and another cow born 2013/2014.

Great news, I've been waiting for this for a while! Also, ig this confirms the three 2017 born males have left, they probably went somewhere like Rum Creek or White Oak since no zoo has announced their arrival.0.1 Southern White Rhino was was on October 5 to female Anan and male Kengele. Of the 14, a couple have been sent away and more likely will in the future as SWR cows generally dont breed too well when they are housed with several relatives. Rum Creek and White Oak both have very large herds, definitetly far larger than the Wilds. SDZSP also has 20+ individuals currently.14 female calves, there set to have one of the largest herds in North America
