Planet Zoo Planet Zoo!

Is this purposely attempting to look like a "Who's That Pokemon?"

Perhaps…. :D

There should be a
- Bird
- European
- Centeral America?
DLC

Bird:
Collared Petrel
Rufous Gnateater
Red Bellied Woodpecker
Green Backed Honeyguide(it would be cool if they add a honey badger with dis)
Mangrove Pitta
Rusty Tinged Antpitta
King of Saxony Birds of paradise
Egyptian Plovers
Pied Lapwing
Short Crested Monarch flycatchers
Violet Cuckoo
OilBird

European:
Iberian Lynx
and uh
yea idk lol

Centeral America:
White Tailed Deer
Harpy Eagle
Gray four eyed Opossum
Two Toed Sloth
Giant Anteater
Geoffroy Tamarin
Lesser Capybara
I think what you're trying to say is that you *wish* Frontier made these DLCs, also most of these have 0 to 5% of coming to the game, I agree with Greater Argus on the fact that they're quite obscure and we already have the giant anteater in game

I believe that birds should be added, and I’ve heard things about a planet aquarium... Not sure if it is really gonna happen though

I'd assume a hypothetical Planet Aquarium would be hard because there are so many other dimensions to it such as tank volume, pH and water quality, not to mention the difficulty in managing so many mixed-species exhibits where casualties are expected to regularly happen...

Megaquarium's the closest game to a aquarium simulator, and while it's not graphically good it's very satisfying to play.

It would also be difficult to make an aquarium update large enough to be realistic and satisfying. Like, most fully aquatic species in zoos don't get placed on their own, they're part of larger aquarium areas. So you have to build an aquarium area, but that's not very fun to do if there are only a few animals to choose from. It also results in an unrealistic display, as aquariums tend to have lots of small species with a handful of big species. And as you say, there are more mixed-species in exhibits.

I think cetaceans and maybe sirenians and sea turtles are the only fully aquatic species that can really work as their own exhibits. (I know a lot of people don't consider sea turtles fully aquatic, but they only come on land to lay eggs and aquariums often place them in tanks without land so I think they can count as fully aquatic)

I think sharks and stingrays can stand alone, though seeing them with other fish is definitely more interesting. There's a lot of exhibits that are primarily just sharks and rays.

Maybe, but aren't those often in the context of coastal or island themed areas? I guess it's doable, especially if you pair them together. But like you say, not as interesting.

Part of the reasons I think that certain cetaceans and sirenians and sea turtles can work is that they can not only stand on their own, many of them are strongly associated with specific land regions or ecosystems and can fit into themed areas. Belugas can work in Arctic areas. Orcas can go with Arctic and North America themes. (I know technically they live in more places than that, but those are the popular classifications) Dugongs fit with Australia. South Asian river dolphins for South Asia, Amazon river dolphin for South America. Basically, you can do more with them than just having them as a standalone exhibit, ya know?

Personally I'd really be down for a Planet Aquarium game. Along with more animals, they'd be able to design the game specifically for exhibits and features that are more specific to aquariums. Like, there would be more to do in terms of mixed species exhibits. You could do more with the small animals. And there could be more types of exhibits.

Yes, typically they are. Although several stingray touch pools aren't really associated with anything per se. However many sharks are mixable with each other, rays, bony fish, and sea turtles on a general basis.

This is a fair point, they do generally fit the common themes better. Though I will observe that sharks are far more common in aquaria than cetaceans, even if you exclude the carpet sharks. This being due to less space requirements, smaller size of many species relative to the captive cetaceans, and lack of targeting by AR activists.

True, but if we're talking regular zoos and not aquariums or aquarium areas, cetaceans are a better fit.

It would be fun to have integrating planet zoo, coaster and aquarium games, similar to the total war- warhammer games where you can use them together to build an entertainment district.

One of the mods did this to an extent, allowing roller coaster like rides and stuff. If it ever actually happened it'd be a lot like a Six Flags or Busch Gardens I suppose.

It's confirmed, we'll be getting a black and white ruffed lemur in the 2 year anniversary update! (Alongside another couple of treats).
This is a great way to adding animals to Planet Zoo when Frontier stops making DLC's for the game.
Sure, we can say now that it's unfortunate that we got a Black and White Ruffed Lemur and not a sifaka, but we should be happy with this awesome (free) specie that many have wanted for a long time. This is probably the only lemur species where Frontier would not make a loss to release it as a free species.
Other things we got in the 1.7.2 update include:
- Bernie's Bake Shop: a new kind of store with cake
- Different sceneries for Bernie's Bake Shop such as signs (logos, ...)
- Birthday balloons for guests
- Various bug fixes
- New North America tag in Steam Workshop
You can find everything here, like what bugs have been fixed:

Huh? This list for the PZ animals has Capybara and Lord howe stick-insect at the bottom. Black and white ruffed lemur has been added. But looking at when the two unconfirmed animals were added in it just says “KCONTENT”. Huh?
