Did they confirm it was Jetta? I think it likely was, but there have been 2 whales in their ICU, so I was hesitant to update the population list until it was confirmed.Jetta who was at mystic after being imported from Marineland died last week

Havana died, Jetta is still alive
So if this right I believe they have the following JunoHavana died, Jetta is still alive
Has it been confirmed it was Havana, then? There was a lot of speculation about which one it was.
Do think they are spreading the sickness through each other or it’s something in the water? There’s been no confirmation yet. Once the NOAA documents get updated it would be made available.
Additionally all the belugas when moved were cleared healthy; this thread on Twitter has more information. https://twitter.com/seasthedreams/status/1492998907118370816?s=21
Personally, and unfortunately, Skyla and Kelowna (Jetta and Havana’s moms) haven’t had the best success with calvesI wonder if genetics play a role- given that one of Kelowna’s calves prior to Havana passed from a metabolic disorder (likely inherited from Kelowna, as Havana’s dad Andre has several confirmed offspring)

Yes, it was confirmed animal care staff, and now by NOAA: Permit Application to Import 5 Beluga Whales for Scientific Research (File No. 22629, Mystic Aquarium)Has it been confirmed it was Havana, then? There was a lot of speculation about which one it was.

There is a rumor circulating on social media that Grayson is no longer at SWF, and may have transferred to Georgia Aquarium. Typically, there is not just a single transfer of a beluga, as the captive population is managed as one pod, I would anticipate additional transfers did or will occur soon. If anyone sees Grayson at Georgia or sees confirmation of any other transfers, please post!

It’s more actually. Given that both Coves have medical pools that have barriers that make those ones off limit to the public. Unfortunately uncertain of numbersFor MLC, I found a visitor report from August 2022 that said they had 32 whales. They were in the Arctic Cove in two pools, 12 in one, 11 in another. Then in Friendship Cove, 9 whales. He didn't see any whales at the show area.
So that's 32 belugas, does anyone know if that's right?
