If Fiona of the Cincinnati Zoo were to leave, where would be ideal for her? I personally think that she could maybe move to Denver or San Antonio.
Also Funani (38) at the San Diego Zoo shouldn't breed again.

Unlikely. The zoo never said that that Fiona and Tucker should breed, since they barely have room for three adult hippos. She’s being paired with Tucker from San Antonio is she not?
Also BTW, Tucker came from San Francisco, not San Antonio. She’s being paired with Tucker from San Antonio is she not?
Also Uma (48) at the San Antonio Zoo and Viviana (47) at Disney's Animal Kingdom should not breed again. These hippos in USA zoos should NEVER be recommended to breed again. *(#) is their age as of December 31 2022*
Lu (61) (Homosassa Springs)
Patti (53) and Happy (41) (Milwaukee)
Sweetie Pie (51) and Pudgie (50) (Sedgwick County)
Moe (49) (Albuquerque)
Frankie (47) (Wild Wilderness Drive Through Safari Gentry Arkansas)
Cindy (33) and Unna (33) (Philadelphia) (neither has had a calf before and they are a little too old to become a first-time mother)
Jonsey (38) and Daisy (38) (Fort Worth) (same as the 2 Philadelphia Zoo hippos)
Also Uma (48) at the San Antonio Zoo and Viviana (47) at Disney's Animal Kingdom should not breed again.
I think this may come as common sense to many that two senior/geriatric hippos are way past breeding and don’t think it’s even possible if attempted. And while we don’t know if the hippo from Louisiana Purchase Gardens and Zoo will be bred, this all is straying away from the purpose of the whole thread. It’s to see about transactions/births/deaths of the hippo population in North America. Not to say that conversations don’t ever deviated on any given thread, this is Zoochat and it happens quite often. All that said, I think it’s important to post mostly about what is actually going with the NA hippo population instead of “what ifs” or “should/shouldn’t” happen.I think that Monreaux of the Louisiana Purchase Gardens & Zoo could be moved to another facility, considering that he is COMPLETELY unrelated to any other hippo in North America.

When I visited the San Diego Zoo on Monday, October 11th, 2021, Otis was feeling perfectly fine and seemed to have no problems at all. He even ran into his pool and was SO excited about his water cannon. He was my favorite animal at the zoo (maybe except for the Indian Rhino). But he must have died because of a heart attack or something.

Still a darn shame though.Unlikely. The zoo never said that that Fiona and Tucker should breed, since they barely have room for three adult hippos.

Will the Sedgwick County Zoo keep or phase out hippos when their elderly hippos die?

Any speculations as to where their hippo may be sent?
