GOOD NEWS: Eagle-eyed Zoo guests may have noticed that some of our birds began returning to their public-facing habitats this week. Since no new cases of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) have been reported within 100 miles of the Zoo in the past several weeks, we are optimistic the immediate threat has subsided. Penguins are in their pool, and our Wings of Wonder habitats are filling up again. We will slowly bring additional bird species back out into open-air areas in the weeks to come, as long as the HPAI situation remains stable. Our team of veterinarians and zoologists will continue to monitor reports of any HPAI cases in the state, and we will adjust our plans if needed to keep our birds safe and healthy.
