been quietly anticipating Kudu's finishing for a while now, so I've had time to think about how to handle there being an official "winner" in May rather than at the end of the year. It's not quite as climactic, but here's what I've decided: having won under the initial conditions I outlined, Kudu21 will be considered the official winner of ZCCNA 2022. Trophy will be sent in their dreams shortly![]()
I will say, while maybe not quite as climactic of an ending, I have enjoyed this challenge, and this style of challenge, much more so than the older style of challenge we've had. The "piece-meal" style has been really nice as someone who, in any challenge, knows they won't be the first-place finisher, to have the satisfaction of at least finishing parts of the challenge. Others may disagree, but I am a huge fan of this new style of challenge and would be thrilled to see it as the norm for future challenges.

Louisville, Kentucky isn't in Ohio... you'd know that if you really went there. Disqualified!![]()
I guess what they say is true, never underestimate TexasCongratulations to @Kudu21 on being the first person to finish the 36 Trials, and with 7 months to spare no less! I realized fairly quickly into this game that someone would eventually finish, but Kudu surpassed my time expectations by a solid 2-4 months. Came out of the gate swinging and never looked back. And to think I was on the verge of catching up...![]()
But anyways, thank you very much!I'd been quietly anticipating Kudu's finishing for a while now, so I've had time to think about how to handle there being an official "winner" in May rather than at the end of the year. You definitely got lucky location-wise for this challenge (though in no way am I saying your win wasn't impressive). I live in New England, where only 16 challenges could be finished without leaving the region! Congrats on your win, and I'm definitely jealous of some of the species you can easily see at zoos nearby!I guess what they say is true, never underestimate TexasI looked into it early on, and I could have completed all of the challenges except "An Unbearable Challenge", "Cold as Ice", and maybe "Cat Got Your Tongue?", depending on whether or not any snow leopards have found their way into any of the private facilities in the state, without leaving the state of Texas (although driving to El Paso, which would be necessary for challenges like "The Edgar Allen Poe" and "Champion of the Sun", from DFW would be just about as long of a trip as from DFW to St. Louis
