i am very exited about the future for chester, although i have never been before
I hope you get a chance to visit soon, it is a good place. Hopefully the extension will make it better.
Thats include in the plans at some stage, but i`m not sure this expansion is a good thing for the zoo yes it will bring in many new species and hopefully some world class exhibits, but if it doesn`t bring in the people it could be the end of the zoo.a hotel would make sence with the collection expanding to that size
Jurek, doesn't Dvur Kralove have a hotel connected to the zoo?

If it all goes wrong on phase1 then the zoo will be in very serious trouble as its going to cost in the region of 90 million while the whole project is around the 255 million so that well over 25% of the plan in 1 go,i realy do hope it works as when the zoo first annouced the plans to members i thought it was a great idea now i`m not so sure.Another thing to bear in mind is the person who was responsible for the GLASS SLUG project in the CITY CENTRE of CHESTER is now working on NATURAL VISION look what happened to that buildings knocked down and nothing happened.Thats why they are planning it in phases, so they can stop if its not working and regroup maybe look at something differen't
The big thing I worry about is whether the loss of income from renting the fields out will be lost or not?
doesanyone know any definate new species that will be coming to the park!
Now i`m just that little bit more worried as they are both exhibits that i considered only to be just about OK,and the fact that Gorilla Kingdom cost so much for next to nothing compared to what this will cost.According to New Civil Engineer magazine, the architects for Heart of Africa were also the same architects that worked on Gorilla Kingdom!
They also work on Lion of the Serengeti for Whipsnade.

I agree totaly with you but things are starting to make me worry alot more than i should be,i trust the management at Chester as they have a great job of transforming the zoo to what it is today but i just don`t trust the people they are bringing in to run this project.I know, lets hope they have done a better job this time or they have to redesign some of it.
