Zoological inaccuracies & mistakes

Yeah, pretty much.

I only just started reading this thread today, and it went from mostly lighthearted posts about books getting obvious things wrong to you being fairly aggressive in your dislike of things people say about dholes. On page 18 you said you'd stop following DCF and wouldn't engage with them, but a page later you're interacting with them (and threatening violence). I suggest you block their social media pages, and block the organization name if your web browser lets you do that. Stop seeking out this stuff to make yourself angry.

Done (why didn't I do that in the first place?)

Now, everyone, I failed to keep my word earlier. And the misinformation spread by these people made me into someone I don't want to be. And if that drove some people away from this thread, I'm sorry.

But clearly, I need a break from this thread. A long one. And this time I'm keeping my word.

Animal Planet’s “Pets 101” claimed that Kinkajous are marsupials in their series finale.
Maybe it’s just me, but I think they should’ve stuck with cats and dogs (I say, having paid money for both season 2 mega-episodes).

The article also says that the North Atlantic right whale is the most endangered whale before stating that there are only 9 known vaquitas. It also includes a few subspecies among the '10 most endangered species on Earth'.

Animals A-Z is notorious for such inaccuracy, either way.
I cannot seem to find much of this notoriety?
Of course I know about the inaccuracy of its content, but I can't find much about it itself online..
Though here's another rather profound error:
The page on raccoon dog seems to state as fact that the raccoon dog is 'considered an invasive species in the United States because they carry parasites, bacteria, and diseases that can easily be passed to other animals'.
Aside from the fact that there are barely any raccoon dogs at all in the United States, the definition given for invasive species is rather bizarre as well - that invasive species 'carry parasites, bacteria, and diseases that can easily be passed to other animals'. That definition could apply for almost any species in existence, native species very much included.
Strangely enough, the page also says that they occur in Western Europe, but the way the information is presented implies that raccoon dogs are native to Western Europe.
The fact also makes mention of 'animal technicians' working in a zoo - from what I find, 'animal technician' is a true profession, but tends to refer to one who works with animals in a laboratory. Hence, it is strange terminology to use in conjunction with a zoo of all things...
