Thanks for all the updates. I will post an updated list soon since there have been a number of changes recently. Also just to clarify for anyone else wondering, Zero is Osceola's new name and his littermate Stubbley (aka One) is at Naples. I didn't have Mawar listed at Sunset but she was transferred there on December 1st, 2021 and then unfortunately passed away in April as Jaxton stated.

Is it likely a facility described as 'a roadside zoo', and one currently under investigation by the USDA, would hold critically endangered purebred Malayan Tigers?

DeYoung has received big cats and hyenas from the AZA in the past, so it wouldn’t surprise me. The cats there certainly don’t look any I’ve seen elsewhere.

I’m doubtful these are pure Malayans as I’ve taken a look at the studbook and there are no individuals that have left the AZA/SSP population recently (this is usually indicated with a “Go LTF” under the individual transfer listings). Also, I feel it’s very unlikely the SSP would let go of a pair of Malayans (since they aren’t doing that well in terms of breeding), perhaps a surplus male but definitely not a female.

In a video I found of them on social media, the keeper identifies them as "Indochinese tigers". Those are a separate sub-species, however, I'm also doubtful they're pure Indochinese tigers.

I believe the only purebred/studbook Malayan tiger currently outside of an AZA facility in North America is Raja at the Exotic Feline Breeding Compound.

The tigers have been at DeYoung fpr years. I know DeYoung has imported species in the past.

Malayan Tigers are commonly mislabeled as Indochinese in zoos.

This is the video that I saw on social media in which the zoo employee identifies them as Indochinese tigers so that people who are interested can view the tigers being discussed.

Kadar and Api at Palm Beach have been reintroduced for breeding and things look like they’re going well: Login • Instagram

This is a proven pair as they had a litter of 1.2 cubs in May 2020 so fingers crossed another litter is born to the pair within the next few months.
