Anybody else think this looks suspiciously like the corner where Glen lives? Or is it just me because I’m paranoid we’re gonna lose the best nocturnal house in the country to another aquarium exhibit?

What is Glen? Most of us don't know animals' names.
Whoops! Sorry, didn’t realize that…
The Roadhouse is my favorite exhibit at Columbus, partially because it’s a nocturnal house, and partially because it contains so much rare and unusual stuff (wombat, kiwi, tree kangaroo, etc.). If it gets gutted and brightened up to make room for another aquarium, I’m going to be very angry.

Fort Wayne replaced echidnas and fruit bats with a stingray touch tank...

I'm fairly certain there are Nocturnal houses better than the one of Columbus. I'm looking at you Omaha and Cincinnati...
Can’t speak for Kingdoms of the Night, but I loved Night Hunters in spite of its flaws.
The Roadhouse is my favorite nocturnal house in the US, not necessarily the best, but it’s probably the most unique species-wise.

Ah, “Ringbay Stay”, my favorite kind of unoriginal replacement exhibit. Columbus already has one, but now they’re replacing their nocturnal Australasian animals with a different kind of fish that doesn’t warrant a whole building to themselves.

Yeah I also don’t get why it has to go there. I don’t recall the aquarium being so full of unique species they couldn’t afford to replace any of them. And losing wombats or kiwi would feel wrong. Here’s hoping it goes in the entry.

Tree kangaroos or binturongs matter less time me. Both could simply have new habitats built outside like most zoos display them.

Saint Louis replaced echindas and tree kangaroos with a robot dinosaur. :(
Do zoos just hate Australasian weirdo animals or something?
Although one could consider Weedy Sea Dragons “Australasian weirdo animals”… but they’re the wrong kind of Australasian weirdo animals!

This feels like a lot of pessimistic speculation over the zoo building one aquatic exhibit in a nocturnal house...

I forgot that Memphis’s nocturnal house has a roster of species that’s capable of making me faint. Thanks for reminding me that I’ve never been to Memphis and that I need to visit Memphis, good sir.
Sorry for all the conundrum. I saw “Roadhouse” and “closed” and assumed the worst.

I feel like they will most likely scrap the bar when you enter the nocturnal house and build the tank for the dragons there.
Now that makes a lot of sense, I did not think of that. Sadly that is a great piece of themeing for the section, loosing it makes the whole area more generic. However, if that is what they are doing then I don't "mind" the project as much. I feel fortunate to have been last week before it closed.

On September 2nd, the zoo announced that they are building a new exhibit for weedy sea dragons in the Australia and the Islands region. The Roadhouse Nocturnal Building will be closed from September 6th to early 2023 for construction.

The exhibit will be 1,200 square feet and will feature a 10-inch curved acrylic tank, updated graphics, and conservation messages.

Luckily it says on the first picture "Also, explore some of the diverse habitats and wildlife found in the Australian and Indo-Pacific regions of the world." Looks like the nocturnal portion's staying after all!

Ok thank goodness.
I don’t have a Facebook account (nor do I plan on making one), so I couldn’t access that page. I got the render from the zoo’s Twitter.
