Disappointing to see the zoo has lost many of the interesting ungulate species that were once displayed in the Round Barn & the African Veldt, Although it is great news that the zoo has received a Banded Palm Civet from Nashville! Hopefully more can be distributed amongst other American zoos in the near future.

Yeah I was a little shocked to see how one of the animals I wanted to come to Memphis most to see the gerenuk was completely gone from the round barn along with the other ungulates, disappointed with how that area is basically non-existent now. Although the fact they have bear ciscus, which I never knew they had, has brought my hopes up to see for when I go soon.

On my visit, Red-Billed Blue Magpie (Urocissa erythroryncha) was with the Temminck's Tragopan.
Azure-Winged Magpie (Cyanopica cyanus) was with the Lady Amherst’s Pheasant instead of the Red-Billed blues and Golden Pheasant was also signed with them but I did not see any.

Generic then, unless they switched to subspecific and didn't change the signage.

No idea.

The "Reticulated" and "Rothschild's/Baringo" in the US are all or nearly all hybrid-mix of each other. Only the Masai population is pure.

Nice work getting photographs and IDs for all of those fish - I was sure there were a decent number of unsigned species in there, but I had other priorities during my visit.

No sign of the burrowing owls on my visit 2 days ago. I saw a crested coua in the exit room.

No sign of them either.

Sadly not present anymore.

Aquarium (42 spp)

• Unsigned Tube-snout (Aulorhynchus flavidus), other fish in kelp tank

Painted greenling, kelp perch, and Urcina anemones in this tank.

Moon jellies

Two tanks for these guys, with one in each.

Banded Archerfish (Toxotes jaculatrix), Signed with Green Spotted Puffer which I didn't see

Saw a lone archerfish with a Monodactylus argenteus.

Porcupine puffer (Diodon hystrix), Green moray eel, Unsigned Blue chromis, Spanish Hogfish

No sign of the chromis, I did see Atlantic blue tang and a few bluehead wrasse. Foureye butterfly fish were signed but not seen.

Loiselle’s Cichlid (Parachromis loisellei)

Seen in the tank witht he stingray, I'm pretty sure these were the cichlids I saw in the tank with the ripsaw catfish.

Spotted Snake Eel (Myrichthys aspetocherios), Whitetip soldierfish (Myripristis vittata)

No sign of the soldierfish, but I did see an annularis angelfish,engineer gobies, and an unsigned three-striped damselfish.

Iridescent Shark (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus), Giant gourami, Unsigned Giant Danio (Devario aequipinnatus)

Rosy barbs are also present in this tank.

Caribe piranha (Pygocentrus cariba), Unsigned Lemon Tetra

No sign of the tetras.

Arapaima, Oscar (Astronotus ocellatus), Ripsaw Catfish (Oxydoras niger), Unsigned Convict cichlid (Amatitlania nigrofasciata), Threespot leporinus

No sign of the arapaima, leporinus, or convict cichlid. There was a large group of (probably) Loiselle's cichlids. I also saw a peacock bass (Cichla ocellaris) and what has been IDed as a fat vulture catfish.

Electric eel

Housed with ember tetras and a another species of tetra which is currently unidentified.

Motoro River stingray (Potamotrygon motoro), Peacock bass (Cichla ocellaris), Flag tail cichlid (Semaprochilodus insignis), Unsigned catfish, Cascarudo (Callichthys callichthys), Emperor panaque (Panaqolus albivermis)

Only saw the stingray and Loiselle's cichlids.

Northern snakehead (Channa argus)

No longer present. Based off of where this tank is on your list, it appears that it has been converted into a North American tank housing bluehead chubs, creek chubs, dollar sunfish, redspotted sunfish, longear sunfish, and warmouth.

• Blue Discus (Symphysodon aequifasciatus), Unsigned catfish, Julii Cory (Corydoras julii), Lemon Tetra, Rummy nose tetra (Hemigrammus rhodostomus)

No sign of the lemon tetras, though there was a large group of cardinal tetras present in the tank.

This area seems to have changed quite a bit. There was a tank with Elassoma zonatum, one with cockatoo dwarf cichlids, sterbai corys, and blue tetras. I also saw a tank with pea puffers. The leaffish are no longer present, and neither are the cherry shrimp and loaches. I also recall seeing another species of cory, though I do not remember what exactly it was.

The tank with the ocellaris clownfish (the one set off to the side) had a flame angelfish, red cleaner shrimp, and a longsnout hawkfish. The other entry tank (situated in the center wall) had a blue tang and a currently unidentified fish.
