San Antonio Zoo had an usigned Cubera Snapper during my last visit and SeaWorld: Orlando has Crevalle JackI was doing some general research for my speculative zoo thread; and as part of this project, I am curious to know if any of the following fish species are/were currently/historically kept in captivity?
- Crevalle Jack (Caranx hippos)
- Guinean Barracuda (Sphyraena afra)
- Longfin Crevalle Jack (Caranx fischeri)
- Cubera Snapper (Lutjanus cyanopterus)
- Giant African Threadfin (Polydactylus quadrifilis)
I also forgot to mention that this is my 900th post, so I guess that’s something special to celebrate.![]()

There was actual a tarpan studbook up until a few decades ago. If you look through the ZIMS records of some AZA zoos you’ll see tarpan listed
