A different alphabet game

So I guess that means that I am now harboured with H.
The animal I am thinking of which begins with H belongs to one genus, which has several species. Its name has also been applied to a different, unaffiliated genus.
It is a bird - and these birds vary quite dramatically in colouration.
At the moment it is not held in European captivity anywhere, but members of the genus were held in captivity as late as the early-21st century.
Can any of you guess what animal I have in mind?

Is it some form of Ibis?
